The vacancy offers the post holder the opportunity to join a successful team to work on practical applications of leading edge technology within the context of web development.
The Company is seeking an individual capable of both maintaining and upgrading existing ASP/SQL Server 2000 web sites. There is also be the opportunity to retrain and to build websites from scratch using ASP.NET and SQL Server 2005 for new and existing clients. Initially there will be no face-to-face customer contact but as the role is developed, this will become a key part of the post.
Responsibilities of the Web Developer will include using the following core technologies to build, upgrade and maintain web sites:
Ø HTML
Ø DHTML
Ø XML
Ø ASP
Ø JavaScript
Ø SQL
Ø MS SQL Server
Person Specification:
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Ø Must have a proven track record of working within a Web design environment
Ø Must be degree calibre in Computer Science or a similar discipline
Ø In depth experience of HTML, DHTML, XML, ASP
Ø Working knowledge of Microsoft SQLServer, T-SQL, Microsoft Visual Studio, SourceSafe
Ø Ability to work flexibly in a multi-disciplinary team in which roles may evolve, tasks may change and customer requirements are not always well specified
Ø Good communication and presentation skills; including the ability to relate in depth technical details to both a technical and non technical audience.
Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Ø Experience of working directly with customers
