Further expansion of the product range means that the company requires additional Hardware Design Engineers.
The Job:
Their engineers have many responsibilities, and in particular they are involved in all the following:
Ø Design and development of single board computer products from definition through to introduction to manufacturing
Ø Production technical support
Ø Project leading and design reviewing
Ø Maintaining awareness of new technologies
Ø Pre and post-sales backup to our technical support team
Working in a small company environment means that the majority of each design is completed by an individual engineer, who quickly becomes involved with all aspects of the product design and development. Short design timescales are an important part of their development strategy, which also results in their engineers being involved in many different product designs quite quickly.
Qualifications:
Candidates should be engineering graduates, able to demonstrate practical post graduate experience of digital hardware design, and be familiar with some or all of the following:
Ø 32/64 bit microprocessors, preferably Intel 80x86 architecture
Ø High performance communications peripheral devices, e.g. Gigabit Ethernet, SATA, SAS or SCSI
Ø Complex programmable logic devices
Ø High performance bus architectures e.g. PCI Express, RapidIO, CompactPCI or VME
Ø High speed digital logic (100MHz and faster)
Ø Advanced memory technologies, e.g. DDR or DDR II SDRAM
The ability to communicate effectively with others within the company at an engineering level is an important additional attribute.
