Company Background: The Company has its own data centre and offers uniquely packaged managed computing services for companies wanting to concentrate on their core business processes, not supporting their in house IT. They offer consultancy on networking, thin client and virtualisation technology. The Company is partners with companies such as Citrix, Provision Networks, HP, VMWare, Virtual Iron, and Microsoft. Their sister company is the UK and Europe`s leading independent online supplier of thin client and server based technologies dedicated to offering choice, easy ordering, quality service and after sales support. Job purpose: They are looking for a Technical Engineer with large range of skills to join their team supporting a large network containing the Company`s core and customer VLANs. The available position is very diverse and requires a hard working and conscientious person with good communication skills. The role involves customer and internal projects which may require you to manage the projects through the entire life cycle. The role also requires 3rd line level of support for our existing customers through their helpdesk and on site visits. Desirable skills/qualifications include: Cisco (CCNA), in-depth technical knowledge of Cisco products and will be a confident fault finder, particularly on complex IP issues. Microsoft MCSA and MCSE qualifications or good experience in Microsoft Windows 2003 Server, Active Directory, Windows networking, Terminal Services, Exchange, Citrix, the ability to specify HP Server Hardware for customer projects, SAN configuration and management and a VMware VCP qualification or experience. They have two roles available; one with an emphasis on Networking and the other with Microsoft Server Technologies. Microsoft Technical Role; Key responsibilities and accountabilities: 1. To manage and upgrade the Company`s core infrastructure, including managing Active Directory, clustered exchange 2003 environment. 2. To mange installations / upgrades of customer installation projects through the full project life cycle. 3. Define server requirements for customer projects. 4. Help manage the Company`s Helpdesk system for all customer problems. This involves answering calls and e-mail tickets.
