My client currently has an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer to join their highly successful team. My clients systems and software are used by leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of the software development life-cycle. You will be involved in the implementation of new features and changes to the software, producing design documentation and new software. Working as a member of a small team you will be responsible for following defined standards for producing software, for unit-testing software and participating in design, code and test reviews. As you gain experience, you will be encouraged to work more closely with customers and will get involved in the specification of software features.
You are required to have experience of developing software in C++ or C#. Experience of developing applications for Windows. You should have additional experience of developing software for scientific, technical or engineering systems. Experience of working within a structured software development life-cycle. Experience of developing software for process-, instrument- or robot-control Experience of the following tools/technologies would be beneficial: UML, COM, .net, Oracle, nUnit, InstallShield. Additionally a Degree, or equivalent, in a relevant subject area would be beneficial although qualification by experience is acknowledged, and lack of academic qualifications is not a barrier to holding this position.
Based Manchester. Some work on customer sites may be required, so candidates need to be able to travel and need a valid driving license and passport. Excellent salary.
