My client currently has an exciting opportunity for an Interfacing Analyst to join their team. You will provide expertise to ensure the successful deployment of our healthcare IT solutions via the interfacing of disparate systems.
Principal Responsibilities: The development & implementation of Interfaces to and from products and third party products using commercially available third party interface engine. The support of interfaces developed between third party systems. Investigation of customer requirements, development of functional and technical specifications. Development and on-going maintenance of interfacing documentation (specifications, interface maps, support guides, etc). Providing 2nd line support for all interfaces developed and ensure support SLA`s are not breached. Providing interfacing support and expertise to other technical and non technical members of staff, (e.g. Project Managers, first line support, systems developers, etc)
Qualifications and Knowledge: Educated to degree level. (Significant work experience may be acceptable as a substitute for academic qualifications). Good all round IT knowledge (networking, communication protocols, web technologies etc). Some knowledge of NHS and Healthcare Information Systems. Working knowledge of HL7 v2 and an understanding of XML
Knowledge of one or more of the following types of interfaces is required: Single way real-time MPI feed (from PAS to departmental system). Bi-directional real-time MPI feed (between PAS and a departmental system). Realtime transactional interface (e.g. Query/response such as a Patient Name Search). Remote ADT`s (from a departmental system to a PAS). Test requesting / Ordering. Pathology/Radiology Results reporting. PACS. Experience of interfacing both modern and legacy systems using one or more of the following commercial interface engines: Rhapsody, eGate; BizTalk; Microscript/Neon; Cloverleaf. Experience of dealing with end users - technical and non technical
Skills and Abilities: Must understand the issues regarding interfacing of disparate systems together (e.g. code translations, data mappings, unique patient identifiers, multi-identifiers, etc). Must have proven skills in developing and maintaining end user, technical, and support documentation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills a must. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of technical, non technical, management and NHS staff. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work well on own or within a team.
