Purpose of Position:
Due to increasing online business activity, they are looking for a talented Software Developer with an excellent web skill set, to join their expanding IS team. Reporting to the IT Services Manager, you will be working with existing websites/systems, developing new functionality and dealing with ongoing maintenance.
Although a high level of technical expertise is required, the successful applicant will also have a strong understanding of web design principles and a keen interest in all aspects of web development.
Investigate, evaluate and implement solutions to improve efficiency and increase profitability.
Scope of Position:
-Design and Implementation of web-related projects based on the specifications confirmed to the post holder
-Development and modification of existing applications as defined by changes to business requirements
-To advise the team on technical options regarding applications including online/websites
-Ensure that quality standards are maintained in respect of:
-Commercial functionality
-Usability
-Co-ordinate with the Web Designers to ensure seamless integration of new developments with existing websites
-Collaborate with the IS team to ensure seamless integration between front and back end systems
-To record work on an ongoing basis and regularly update the IT Services Manager on progress and outstanding work
Education and Qualifications:
Degree (2.1) in a Computer Science discipline or equivalent experience

Key Skills:
-Strong development experience, including:
-Classic ASP, Java Script, VB Script
-.NET in particular ASP.NET & C#
-OO Design and Development e.g. C++, JAVA etc…
-XML
-Experience of website management systems e.g. IIS/Apache or similar
-Experience of working with version/source control in a collaborative environment
-Experience of Web/Database integration
-Transact SQL
-SQL Server 2000
Experience:
2 years + (post degree) in a development orientated role |
