The Company provides technology to the print and pre-press industry (both high-end and middle market). Success here demands a reputation for robust, extensible and high-performance software. By achieving this, the Company has secured a large share of its marketplace.
They are seeking a highly skilled and senior software engineer to join their Core Technology Group, a highly dedicated, professional team developing software for the software`s Core RIPs (Raster Image Processor).
Principal responsibilities
- Key contributor to definition, analysis, architecture, modelling, design, development and testing of RIP Software
- Contribution to direction through group design discussions
- Contribution to software development process definition and improvements
- Technical leadership and mentoring in a number of software development techniques and skills
Essential skills and experience
- B.Sc. degree in computer science or equivalent training
- Minimum 5 years C/C++ development on one of Windows NT, Macintosh, or UNIX/Linux platforms
- Knowledge of pre-press or electronic publishing systems
- Knowledge and experience of page description languages, specifically PCL
- Knowledge and experience of modern software development processes and practices
- A good team player with strong analytical and problem solving abilities
- Strong communication skills
Desirable skills
- Knowledge and/or experience of computer graphics or image processing
- Knowledge and/or experience of colour management
- Exposure and experience of software development project management and software quality assurance
- Team leading and technical mentoring experience
