My client currently have an exciting opportunity for an Embedded Software Engineer to ssist in the design, development and management of our new range of SCADA Protection and control products.
Duties & Responsibilities: Working within a team to specify, co-ordinate and support design, coding and testing of embedded applications. Participation in the overall specification of applications. Provide support to customers.
Qualifications (Preferred): Degree in a related discipline Software Engineering or Electronic/Electrical Engineering
Experience/Skills Essential: Embedded Software and Hardware. Real time operating systems
C and C++ and knowledge of ARM 7 and 9 microprocessors. 2 or more years C/C++ programming experience within a real-time embedded processing environment. Blackfin DSP experience using VDK RTOS/LINUX. Embedded LINUX. Previous use of ARM and PIC Microcontrollers.
Experience/Skills Desirable: Some experience within the Electric Utilities Industry or Power Industry. Protection equipment, substation automation. Digital/Analogue Circuitry. Familiar with communications protocols such as CANbus/I2C /TCP/IP, RS232. HTML knowledge. Software design with UML
Person Profile: A good communicator at all levels. Good organisational skills with ability to work methodically within set time scales. Willingness to travel both in the UK and abroad at short notice for reasonable periods of time.
Package: Salary up to £24k - £29k. Company Pension Scheme (4% Contributory), 25 Days Annual Leave Plus all statutory Bank Holiday, Personal Health Insurance (Income Protection Scheme). Based near Chester.
