Support existing customer base of internet hosted servers
Work on a shared 24 x 7 out of hours support rota and will be required to attend site in the event of customer systems or services failure.
To log customer calls and own customer queries through to completion
To work on the development of new and revise existing department procedures.
To report to the department Team Leader on a regular basis for the purpose of effective communication in the form of a weekly progress meeting.
To comply to internal and external processes and procedures.
To work between the hours of 09:00AM and 5:30PM, unless customer queries require you to work out of normal working hours.
To work were required with the Sales team in developing proposals for customer solutions.
Design, document and enforce data security and disaster recovery plan with consideration for key dependencies
Plan and coordinate database changes, installation of upgrades, patches and new versions.
Work with the Infrastructure team to coordinate upgrades, patches and resolve any cross function issues
Develop, document and enforce database standards and procedures
Develop DB infrastructure testing plans
System/database/application monitoring, query performance tuning, analysis and design, sizing and capacity planning, backup and recovery, including recovery
Collect and interpret trace files to identify database performance issues
Database cloning, schema, and table level data refreshes
Write/maintain OS level scripts (i.e., UNIX shell) for system DB maintenance
