Joining the team that supports my clients newspaper titles (as well as their London-based magazine division) in Canary Wharf, the successful candidate will have a strong background and understanding of Security Administration (5+ years) and also have in-depth experience in general network/systems support groups.
We are looking for someone who possesses a number of these qualities:
- Experience in general network and systems security, with a key understanding of overall concepts, and the ability to implement policies, processes and develop solutions to security problems.
- Ability to identify security incidents and respond appropriately to contain policy violations.
- Ability to stay informed of evolving threats and concerns of the security arena.
- Experience hardening the security of systems being deployed into production environments, including Windows 2000/2003 and Solaris.
- System Administration level programming experience.
- Experience in analysing network traffic anomalies.
- Experience administering and deploying firewalls such as Checkpoint.
- Experience with networking equipment such as Nortel or Cisco routers and switches, particularly in a fault-tolerant Gigabit Ethernet environment.
- Experience implementing Intrusion Detection Systems.
- Ability to document processes and procedures clearly and accurately.
- Experience in developing internal web-based toolsets and sites.
- Understanding of Public Key Infrastructure and encryption.
You will be self-motivated, a team player, with good project management and communication skills. The nature of the job requires you to work an alternating weekly schedule of days and evenings, two days/three evenings and three days/two evenings. Based in the London office, you may be required to travel to other UK or European-based offices.
