Our client based in Cheltenham are looking for a number of Senior Systems Engineers with a proven track record in Avionic Systems Development.
Experience:
At least 5 years experience in Avionic Systems Engineering. Experience of design & test of Avionic Systems, including one or more of: Aircraft Electrical Power Management Systems, Aircraft Utility Management Systems, Aircraft Fuel Gauging Systems, Aircraft Electronic Displays, Aircraft Navigation or Mission Computers.
Skills/Software:
Must be capable of working autonomously away from base, with customer aircraft manufacturers, on system requirements capture and architecture design. Must be capable of working in a team environment, ideally with proven experience of team leadership. Good verbal and written communication skills are required. Knowledge of aerospace / avionic systems required, as is knowledge of embedded software and hardware engineering.
Education:
Degree or equivalent in engineering discipline (ideally Electrical / Electronic Engineering, Avionics or Aerospace Systems)
Duties and Responsibilities:
Capturing, understanding and documenting the customer's system requirements. Designing avionic systems architectures in co-operation with aircraft manufacturers. Performing avionic system analysis, modelling and simulation. Performing system safety analysis, including hazard analysis and fault tree analysis. Creating Derived System Requirements which specify control, display, monitoring, and buit in test functions for implementation in hardware and software. Developing systems test strategies and performing systems tests. Designing and developing systems test facilities. Defining aircraft installation requirement for avionics.
